Samba Workshop hits just the right beat!

Friday 22nd September 2006 and Notley High School in Braintree was the setting for one of our first Samba workshops, held in the music department with over a dozen GCSE music students. Due to various factors this was only a two hour session but Steve and Bob still managed to take the group though the basics of Samba, the parts each instrument plays and how it all fits together.
Despite only having a fairly short time to learn their parts, the students managed to put perform a very creditable samba in front of a class full of younger students - never easy at the best of times! The students' behaviour was exemplary throughout the session and we'd like to say a really big thank you to everyone who took part and especially to Mrs Hanna and Miss Pillinger from the music department who organised things so well at the school.
